In Oct 1972 I visited South Africa as a guest of the Steel Company "ISCOR" and they took me on and paid for a four day tour to Kruger Park. I went reluctantly assuming it would no more interesting than the African Lion Safari near Hamilton but much to my surprise it turn out to a fascinating place
