Last Saturday (May 31st) I called the ambulance for Irene as she blood pressure and heart rate were down. She had not swallowed food or water since the previous Wednesday. At the hospital they put her on an “IV” and gave her oxygen. This morning her doctor pulled me aside and told me she is not responding to treatment (I could see that myself). The doctor gives her 48 hours and if she does not respond, then they plan to remove the “IV” and oxygen. I will take her home where she will be with me on her last days. She would want that.
Irene and I had a wonderful marriage ...how can one be so lucky?
