Paul is my uncle Photo taken in Texas, USA
My cousin Jan Andersson emailed:
Hello Jock McKay. How do you do?I would like to ask a few questions and show you
two photos. I saw that Judith Elisabeth McKay, your mother,
was born in Rhinelander in Wisconsin and not in British Colombia as i have thought
she did. Adam Jonsson, a brother of Lars Jonsson, emigrated and settled in
Rhinelander Wisconsin. Also a sister, Gustava, lived there for a while. Karl
August Larsson and Amanda Matilda must have had close contact with Adam while
they lived there. Perhaps Adam helped them to get stablished in America. Josie
and John Solberg`s oldest son, Paul, was also born there. What do you know
about that? I bring two photos with this mail. Perhaps you
enjoy to watch them. One is from a family-meeting in America. I think you
recognize the persons. On the backside Josie Solberg has writtten who they are.
It says the people in the back row are from the left; Emil Orth, Josie
Solberg, Paul Solberg, Anna Orth and John Solberg. The people in the front row
are from the left; Clara Orth, Oskar Solberg, Oskar Orth, Paul Larson and Elvie
Solberg. Can that Paul Larson be
Paul Edwin Larson, your uncle? He lived in Idaho, as John and Josie Solberg
did. Didn`t he? The other photo is from Backa in Södra Råda. The
two old people are my and your great grandparents Lars Jonsson and Klara
Karlsdotter. The other man sitting on the seat is Karl Svensson, a neighbour. The
man with a boy in his knee is my grandfather Gustav Andersson. He used to be
called Gusten. And the boy is my uncle Sven. It could also possibly be uncle
Paul. Your grandfather, Karl August, emigrated in
1893. He came home once and visited his family in 1897. Anna Orth has written
in a letter that was the last time she saw him. Can you tell if he ever went to
Sweden an visit his parents any more after that? Have a nice day Jan Andersson
